  • What guarantees exist to protect my funds?

When it comes to investing, there is always some risk associated.

Your investments within Swell portfolios are not impacted if something happens to Swell. Your cash and securities are held at our partner brokerage firm, Folio Institutional, based in Virginia. Swell and Folio Institutional are registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

As an investment advisor, Swell has a fiduciary duty to our clients. This means that we have a fundamental obligation to act in the best interests of our clients and to provide investment advice in our clients’ best interests.

Your account, via Folio Institutional, is insured by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation ("SIPC"). SIPC insurance protects against losses stemming from the financial failure of SIPC member brokerage firms. SIPC insurance protects the securities and cash in a brokerage account up to $500,000 (which includes a limit of $250,000 protection for cash in an account).

Additionally, we have an experienced portfolio management team, view our About Us page here.

  • Why don’t you display reviews or testimonials?

As an SEC-registered investment adviser, Swell is prohibited from posting on its website marketing material that includes any statement by a investor that endorses Swell’s advisory services or refers to the investor’s favorable investment experience with Swell. This also applies to linking to such a testimonial if one of our investors posts such an endorsement on another site. We’re careful to comply with the regulations regarding this restriction, which is why you won’t find a public section on our website asking for client feedback.
